It should be American. If you don't like this country you should leave. Why stay?
If everyone felt this way, there would be no one left What's wrong with loving your country enough to want to make improvements and make it better. I get so tired of the "love it or leave it" crowd. Life isn;t all or nothing, not everything is black and white. So many righties love America as a child loves their Mommy-everything Mommy does or says is good, everything Mommy does or says is right, Mommy can never do wrong. Anyone who doesn't think that about Mommy is bad, and awful, and must never even look at Mommy.
Wouldn't a more logical response be to love America, in spite of it's imperfections? How about recognizing areas that are not strengths and work to improve those areas, to make America even better. Otherwise America may as well be as it was back in 1776.
Some people just want to complain about everything and any little thing. AND they are still upset because Hilary did not win. Period. Any opportunity to complain and pick fights with the other side.
As for the flag burning... do that in another country... disrespect the government as many protesters here have done... do it somewhere else... AND they would not live to tell about it.
Flag burning is disrespectful and anti-American in my opinion. If you care about your country, you wouldn't be burning flags.
Like from 2008-2016? Love some of the emotional responses from the 'Patriots" here- the same political side that always says the left governs by emotions
Isn't it funny how so many people hate this country yet have no issues enjoying the privileges it brings? And these are the same people who won't leave for the greener grass.
What privileges exactly? I did leave for greener grass, much greener, cleaner, sweeter grass-and I enjoy as many if not more privileges here than back in the U$. OZ is by no means perfect, and has its issues, but at least here, a good middle-class life, access to higher education and healthcare is a privilege almost everyone can enjoy-not just affluent white men born into the right situation
Well next time we have a thread of some other country burning an American Flag, make sure you chime in your full support for doing so no matter what the reason is.
YEAH. THAT is my point. ONLY in the US would this BS be tolerated.
That's pretty ignorant
Just one, and an interesting, example

Better a Patriot than a Armchair Warrior. As a former US Marine I will tell you that IMPOV burning a Flag because you don't agree with what the POTUS said or did is wrong. I find protesters defacing the symbol of our Nation in order to make a political point distasteful.
In your new home flags are also burned. They do it as acts of civil disobedience that challenge themselves to better themselves. To instigate change. They are not crybaby millennials who cover their faces as in the US with bandanas.
Understand the difference??
