My daughter is a restaurant manager and I was surprised when told how many people go into a restaurant and have no intention of paying for their meal. A customer once complained that the spaghetti was too short to twirl on her fork. She ate for free and received a $10 gift card from corporate headquarters.
People are scammers. I worked at a busy, popular ice cream chain through high school and college and saw this countless times. People suck. The worst part is, business owners and managers still tend to stick with the "customer is always right, do whatever they want" mentality for the most part, so they just keep coming back, knowing they can win their stupid little game. I understand the intention behind that mentality, but people abuse it and sometimes, people just need to be told off because they're a**holes and yes, they're wrong.
This story definitely could have happened, btw, I'm just agreeing with you. It can be disheartening working with the public in service.
Haha, or got food poisoning. That kind of stuff can stick in your mind pretty specifically.
The poster didn't say anything about food poisoning.
