This sounds like grounds for some kind of lawsuit.

"I just spilled scalding hot coffee on myself, and there was a worm in it!"

Double pay-out!

I know but I'm saying it could explain why he or she remembers the exact time so specifically. I was guessing. Making a possible suggestion.

Worms are very common in fish. You need to cook to an internal temperature of 140°. Many commercial fish are frozen to a very low temperature after they are caught, which also kills the worms. My wife used to work at a restaurant where the cooks would gleefully call out "worms in the deep fryer" when they made fish and chips. This is not an indictment of the restaurant, but just a comment on the status of wild fish. This situation has become worse as the seal population has been allowed to increase (in the wild, seals are a big part of the life cycle of the anisakid nematodes - aka worms).

It proves they don't use free range french fries.

I got you beat.

It was spring, 1991 for me. I remember like it was yesterday. Silly me thinking a breakfast would be safe. It ruined my day at the horse races, if you know what I mean.

I wouldn't eat there if you paid me. I used to work in that slop hole as a kid in the early 1970s.

Love the way you put "food" in quotes. Quite appropriate.

I'm sure a worm is the least of your worries of what people digest that isn't seen in mcdonalds "food"

Seriously do you expect fish or a burger to be only $1? You can't even buy a candy bar for $1 and you expect to buy real meat for a buck? really? The only fish in those fish filets is the smell. Probably get the fish out of the NY east river that have been feeding on god knows what in that cess pool. Fish with 2 and 3 heads and 4 tails they put through a meat grinder and put some breading on it. The box it goes in is worth more.
