Thanks for the update.

Unbelievable lack of professionalism on the part of law enforcement right up to the FBI. They questioned him for some five hours before they attempted to read him his rights, and then they bungled it and read it wrong. Then it was another six hours before someone finally correctly read him his rights. They are like modern day Keystone Cops. My god, most ordinary people could probably correctly tell somebody their Miranda rights from memory, just from watching TV. But FBI agents can't handle it? Unbelievable.

Everything up to that point has to be inadmissible. If he gets acquitted, it's the fault of the FBI. Fortunately I don't think that is going to happen. The case is just too strong even without the confession.

He already admitted it anyway. He showed them where the body was. So of course he'll get time.

Except that evidence is not admissible, because he was not properly read his rights. So the jury will not be able to hear about that. This type of incompetence on the part of law enforcement is the reason many guilty people get acquitted.
