Yikes! I looked at that woman's picture, and two things came to mind. First of all, I can completely unde3rstand why the man was so desperate to get his hands on some porn; and second, that shot in the head was mercy killing. She was putting the poor bastard out of his misery.

Obviously you're wrong.

I hope the kid's happy with the outcome. I'm sure it wasn't a giant leap forward in bringing the family closer together, but on the other hand, 25K buys a hell of a lot of quarters at the skid row bookstore.

I would still do the same thing as the parent.

If forced to pay a judgment, I would write a paper check, bundle it with my will, and be sure it bounced after I was dead.

The eBay link ocnjgirl posted, I clicked on it 18 months later - its still for sale on eBay. I severely disagree with the valuation of "$29,000", as the ebay link for $7,500 has not sold yet.

The only example of a truly rare, forbidden collector's item that would fetch top dollar would be the 1984 Penthouse that featured Vanessa Williams. But unfortunately, that same edition also features then-15-year-old Traci Lords. So according to Esquire magazine, the FBI seized all remaining backstock at the publisher, as it is a _felony_ to even possess it.

Deadbeat brat sues. Once he abandoned his property, unless the parents made a commitment to store it, free of charge, indefinitely-it's theirs to do what they want. This isn't a cell phone someone inadvertently left-he made the choice to abandon the property. Too bad, so sad. Bye Felicia.
1) clearly his was, he was able to demonstrate to a court that a valuation of $25,000 was not unreasonable

2) You don't know the terms of his agreement with his parents, he claims he performed chores in lieu of rent. That said its not the subject of the case, thevparents can counter sue for non-payment of rent.

3) & 4) His parents delivered his belongings, presumably as they had arranged and agreed to, they failed to deliver his collection, thats not abandonment, its theft.

He was divorcing, and obviously needed somewhere to live, he moved to Indiana, there's no evidence he abandoned anything, just his parents transported his stuff (presumably doing like most parents do, check out where their kid is living). That doesn't sound like a deadbeat to me.

Further where do you get off determining how YOU would dispose of someone else's property. Your belief in personal property rights is duly noted.

IMO, porn is of the devil. At my church group, there’s plenty of good men with porn addictions. That s***t will rot your brain. And why do so many attractive women succumb their souls and bodies to such filth? It’s gross and immoral. But I don’t agree the parents had the right to do what they did.

The judge did not agree with you, so it's only too bad so sad for the parents.

This was not a well thought out lawsuit. He more than likely traded in his wish to punish his parents only to be written out of their will. What a dolt.

Why is everyone so sure that they have money to leave him? Or that he needs any? He lived there temporarily while divorcing but has moved to another state and supporting himself for quite some time now. I don’t think he did it to punish his parents, or the judge would not have agreed with him. He was wronged and he rectified it.

I find this all to be moral judgment on this man. I don’t think people would be defending the parents if they threw out his coin collection or comic book collection.
