Being pedantic, the burned guy sues with the assistance of an attorney.

In Texas, criminals generally can't sue for injuries sustained during the commission of a crime.

Good for her. She doled out what he deserved. I hope he suffers greatly for a long time.

Simple weapons can be very effective.

People scoff at this idea, but IMO it's brilliant.

Even the most screwed up shooter would probably think twice if they thought there was a high probability of being stoned to death.

I guess we finally found something that's not better with bacon.

Point taken. I think I'd rather take a bullet than get burned like that. Hot grease is a sustained burn where there is no quick relief.

Can you imagine someone saying, "Spare me the grease and please shoot me instead?"

I suspect Sassy was right - my guess is she put a half gallon of cooking oil in a pot on the stove, and waited for him to arrive.

I suspect she knew he was on the way, and kept that pot at the boiling point for awhile.

It's hard to imagine this was a mere coincidence - that she was cooking dinner and by the luck of timing had an enormous amount of hot grease to toss on his face.
