People tend to fear anything that they fail to comprehend," said the owner of The Diaper Spa
So, let's see what it is about:
Oh, just simple nursery-like business for paraphilic infantile adults who role play as children and, yes, wear diapers.
Diaper-wearing adults looking for a safe space to role-play as babies can now head to the new Diaper Spa in Atkinson, New Hampshire, that caters to the needs of all diaper lovers.
I have no problem with that. It's just a day care for adults who seek acceptance, respite, and care.
For an extra, professional pampering a board-certified integrative medicine physician and sexologist, the home-based spa was a recent addition.
Activities listed on the venue’s website include playtime, story time, nap time, cuddle time, changing time, coloring, nursery rhymes, and sing-a-longs. Prices start at $100 per hour and go all the way up to $1,500 for a 24-hour stay at its bed & breakfast.
But I can understand the community concerns, since diaperism deals with fetishistic behavior that can be sexual and non-sexual. However, Murphy - the owner of the establishment, was emphatic that none of her services have a sexual component.

Several years ago I read an article about a therapeutic residence that treated adults like infants. There weren't diapers involved, but there was bottle feeding, cooing, adoration. The video taken at the place was evocative of that big fat baby on Mork and Mindy.

You probably should be careful about assuming Adult Diaper wearers come from any one political stripe. Often, the person keeps their diaper fetish hidden - even from a spouse for quite awhile - and function as anyone else in society.

Politics has nothing to do with it. Such deviations aren't new.
The spa is just a business opportunity. Not the first bizarre business, though.
Obviously there is a need for establishments like that.

“This led me to find a community of people who had varied needs to wear diapers, whether they were physical or emotional, such as vets wounded in combat with incontinence, people with progressive and congenital musculoskeletal conditions, and victims of trauma and abuse,” she explained. “The void of care was there and I sought a meaningful way to fill it.” - said the therapist.
Adult baby/diaper lovers are people “who act a voluntary regression to a previous age and/or wear a diaper for psychological reasons,” according to a 2020 article in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
The authors speculated that several physiological and psychological factors could cause ABDL fantasies, including continence issues, childhood abuse, and the premature loss of a parent.
There are many people suffering psychological damage and in need of solace. They need emotional support to get over it.
Look around - nowadays more people are aware of their needs and they are more open voicing it.
Maybe they don't want chemical treatment and psychiatric diagnosis - they want to heal emotionally.
If there isn't a "sexual" element, why do they need a "sexologist"? I would not want this next to my business or in my neighborhood. Fetishes are obsessions, and just no, not around me in any way, shape or form! It used to be that people kept this kind of thing private, and how I miss those days, as I don't want to know!
I remember 40 years ago Phil Donahue did one of his shows on this topic and a bunch of adults were dressed like babies and being taken care of by people that they paid. I was shocked as I had never heard of that before. So it’s nothing new.
Can't quit chuckling. Great comment. Succinct, straight to the point.
