Karla I don't cut up squash, it is too hard. I usually half it and take out the seeds and bake it. You can place it with the open side down in a pan with a little water in the bottom, cover it in foil and bake for 45 minutes at 350. It really steams it and is so good. Oh and if you like peas put some in the rice, that is great!

Glad to hear CD's extended families are okay. This is massive!

Morning peeps!

Karla I love eggplant! Of course, I like mine deep fried so I don't know how healthy that is.....

Wow! Guess I am going to have to look for some news. I haven't had the radio or the tv on yet today, but 8.9 sounds pretty nasty. I know they had a 7.something the other day.

Shadow & I have been for a nice walk this morning. We are getting ready to head to the cookie ladies. We are hoping to hit the barn later to hunt mousies.

Karla, I don't do sharp knives either, my kids complain all the time about how dull most of my knives are. I really should sharpen a few, but when I have to have real sharp I use electric. My fingers have fought the sharp knives for too many years.

Evey, I know about the deep fried for eggplant that is the only way to go (and green tomatoes).

Had tons of paperwork to fill out and tons of test to take at temporary services and I am exhausted. Not sure if I am coming down with something, tired and tummy is upset (good thing I did not have to go to Kim's).

Austin is still having problems, but his tummy has to heal and try telling that to a two year old who loves to eat! I guess the bagel did not sit so well, but applesauce is staying down. Gosh this reminds me of my younger, mom years!

Hi everyone,

Welcome back Karla's hubby.
I'm not much on veggies either. That's why I take a supplement called Juice Plus. I still eat veggies sometimes but the supplement takes care of what I don't eat. Try grating a veggie such as a sweet potato and mix it in with meatloaf. I like doing that.

I'm sorry Pattie. Millie is resting in peace now and my prayers are for family and friends of her's.

Sounds like little Austin is feeling a bit better but I'd stick to applesauce for now. BTW Sandy, did you make any decisions on getting the dog you were looking at or are you all going to wait?

Just got our water bill today. Almost 200 bucks. Happened when our pipe busted. Pisses me off.
Still fantasizing about the house I fell in love with and wondering why a house like that is 105,000 instead of what it's appraised at 135,000. It looks like a 200,000 house, maybe even more. Mobiles and cabins are priced a lot higher than the house. I wrote my agent and maybe he'll have an answer.
Keep sending your home selling powers this way and thanks for them.

Getting ready to call about the treadmill again and talk to someone else.

Cheryl, Bob is not ready yet and he wants a puppy so we are going to wait. I want the company but he is not ready and I respect that. Gibbs will be fine where he is his fm is very loving.

The only thing I can say about the cost of the house is maybe someone really wants to sell, might be an estate sale or they can afford to cut the price like that. Lots of maybe's!

Glad you are going to talk to the treadmill people again, threaten them and tell them you want a full refund and they can pick up the broken one at your house. That might get a little response that shows some respect for the consumer.

Can't get the treadmill people on the phone so I sent an email. That gave me a chance to voice myself more anyway.

I wrote my real estate agent in Albq. an email about the house. It's been on the market off and on since 2008 and the listing price started at 229,000 and has gone down a few times. Now it's 105,000. For the area, I'm thinking it's close to a 350,000 house. It's a foreclosure so I guess that means the bank owns it.
Anyway, I don't know why I feel so attached to the house. A couple of weeks ago, I wanted more dogs and now this house. What's going on with me and this 'wanting' stuff? I'm usually not like that. I was thinking this morning though and I've never in my life been in love with a house. I'm a strange one and can't wait to check this place out.

Sandy, good to hear you all made a decision about Gibbs. The time will come.

Finished the 'big day boot camp' workout, maybe by next week I'll be able to actually get through it all the way, those lateral arm exercises are killers.

Going to try to get the faucet in the bathroom sink replaced, can't wait to see what kind of a fiasco that turns into. It always does.

Saw parts of that earthquake and tsunami on the news, but it isn't full time coverage on any of the news channels, and we get all the regulars plus a 24 hour French news channel and a Russian one and Chinese and Al Jazeera in English. What I saw is just unbelievable. More like horrifying.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor's passing, Pattie.

Karla, you gave me an idea! Maybe we need to get some kind of exotic bird so I can keep it warm in here! Don't know how Mystic would feel about that though...well, actually, she'd probably be delighted!

Pattie I have to thank you, the beef barley soup is wonderful and I even think Bob will like it!
