Good morning
Well it is a very noisy morning here at our house.

Today karla jr goes to the vet for her xrays so I am not allowed to feed her and she is not at all *pleased* with this one bit
So of course she is barking her head off which gets the other 2 started and then the birds decides to add his "2 cents"

It is going to be a looong morning till we leave at 9:30

The vet said it should only take till about noon so I think I am going to take my sneakers and maybe do my walking on the beach.

The vet is only 6 blocks from the ocean.

Even though we are only 12 miles from the beach I think it has been 3 years since I have been there

So whats are your plans for today

Feeling a lot better this morning so a long walk and catch up is in my crystal ball reading.

Hope Karla jr. does ok at the vet. I can't remember the last time I went to the beach ... probably eight to nine years ago (unless the shore on the lake at the cabin counts )

Pattie, your NN stories are killing me. I know she is driving you up the wall, but please keep the updates coming!

Don't ya hate it when the kids bark at ya like that???

Well, I'm glad that my suffering has some purpose to it - amusing my "friends" on CD! I managed to elude her again last night. I took some sangria over to another neighbor's house. Consequently, I'm not feeling very chipper this morning. But I think it has something more to do with how sore I am from returning to the gym. Plus, sometime in the night, I must have stretched out my legs in my sleep and gave myself a horrible charley horse. It went away, but my left leg feels like I might have pulled a muscle in the calf. It's a bit tender. Glad it's not a gym day.

I didn't do the hair cut yesterday, but I'll try for today. That'll get me "outside the gate" w/o NN. And tonite, she's going to dinner at the Pub (our little restaurant here at the clubhouse) with her friend Millie, so I'm safe tonight, too. Woopee, party time!

LOL pattie! That is all I am going to say about your situation (the neighbor, not the other stuff).

Today McDonalds is offering free chicken biscuit or free southern style chicken sandwich if you buy a drink, so we are getting ready to out for breakfast. In an effort to get me out of the house earlier my husband took Shadow for her walk, so I am still in my robe drinking tea.

I know there will be some laundry in my immediate future, as well as a trip to Auto Zone.

We put an offer on a house last night. It is not my dream house, and it has had 25 years of deferred maintenance. It is hard to rent when you have owned for so long. This house is a short sale, so it could be many weeks before we get an answer. It does have some really nice features, like the 4 car detached garage that should hold my husband and all of his *ahem* stuff.

Good luck, Evey, and thanks for your "support"! I guess I should be honored. I think I'm the only poster who's been an inspiration for ? o' the day not once, but twice in the same week!

I have a nosey neighbor who has to just look at everything that might be interesting-read:none of her business! So, last year, I got a piece of cardboard and a magic marker, and made a sign and laid it on top of the 'entertainment center' thing our tv is in, I wrote : WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR???, she saw it-of course!-and asked what is this? Don't remember what I said, but it didn't accomplish anything. Apparently she can't take a hint either! To be fair, though, she has a heart of gold and would do anything for me or my son.
So, my son left yesterday, went back to TX. Forgot his carry-on book bag at the security checkpoint. I filled out the form on line for Detroit Metro lost and found, and they said they were sorry, blah blah, so I tried again via regular email and I think they found it! Waiting to hear back, wish me luck!
But anyway, after much slacking and many 'goodies', I got back to it today and did a so-so workout. Have to get busy with all the other stuff I put off, too!

back from the vet
hang on my neighbor across the street just called for an update on "things"
she wanted to know if I had seen the color the neighbor is painting their house and what should be done about it because there is no way the HOA approved the color
it is a rather odd color but I am a pain with the board about the front entrances upkeep so someone else can take paint color issue

ok off the phone

the vet said the x-rays shows her heart is enlarged because karla jr is so nervous she was unable to really hear her heart so while she was under she said she could hear a "rubbing" I said like a murmur she said no not whoosh but a rubbing
she gave me some meds to see if that will help some of the symptoms
she said age is a factor
the next step if the meds don't help is a ultra sound but she said she wants to hold off since that would be a specialist and run about $600
the only problem I have is he would have to put her under again to do this and putting a 12 yr old greyhound under anesthesia so much is not a good idea

she also x-rayed her hips and good new she didn't see cancer in any of the x-rays

Of course you know my concern is could she have a heart attack and she told me no that wasn't a worry

I can't feed her till 5 so you know everyone is giving me the "where is our dinner look "

Good evening all!

Sorry I haven't been on for so long!
After the tailbone thing came an angina and my throat is still sore. So my plans of starting to work again on Monday 5th were destroyed and I can stay home another week. But that is really great b/c the weather is brilliant. Lots of sunshine and it's getting really hot around here.

Did two small walks this morning to bring DS to the day nursery and pick him up before lunch so he can get used to it slowly.
A longer walk was on the plan this afternoon.
Also did some leg and ab work while watching TV.

Hope everyone is good!
Take care.
Diana
