think it has to do with how you are metered===our son lives in Carrolton apt--2nd floor ==2bd 1bath--their newest bill was about 235--his kilo hours were over 1800--he thought that was high--they both work and are gone during the day and set the thermo back--but they do have a computer that they use alot and I know they are power hogs and they have a w/d in unit as well but is only used sporadically....
He does not know how his apartment is metered---if it is single meter per apartment or if it is something like a quad meter and the kilowatts are just split evenly--if so, he could be very conservative and wind up paying for someone elese's power hogging...
he is supposed to call and find out today...
they are moving to another apt complex in Lewisville next mo and we told him he needs to find out how THOSE are metered--
apparently there is no real consumer oversight for apartment electric users and they can get charged enormous rates on a passthough deal that benefits the utilities and the apartments---not the residents...
