I'm seriously considering Plano, Carrolton, Richardson, Garland and Rowlett as options for possible places to rent initially. I plan to be in Dallas in about a month from now. I'm looking for a neighbourhood that is:

Safe
Reasonably affordable (min. $600)
Diverse (here where I currently live, we all look out for one another
regardless of race or colour - we are human beigns first)
Accessible (close to amenities; public transportation)
Not too far from down town (less than 45 min)

If you could be so kind to recommend particular street or zipcode in one or any of these: Plano, Carrolton, Richardson, Garland and Rowlett.

Precise details if you can, would be most appreciated.

Thank you for your help

What city are you coming from? Are you used to living in the city or the suburbs? Public transportation as in no car or just for convenience?
