The area I showed you has the has same schools as the rest of the Lakewood Elementary school zone. Lakewood Elementary feeds into J.L. Long for middle school and Woodrow Wilson for high school.

BTW, Long is applying for IB MYP in April. An IB director has already been hired and is working on the plan.

Hi Lexi,

I also prefer older pier and beam homes with a mature landscape. There are a lot of benefits to owning a home like that as well as the land being valuable underneath it.

Caruth Terrace/University Terrace are nice places to live at a better price point than the M Streets/Lakewood area. I'm not so hot on Junius Heights area personally, but everyone has their opinions on here good and bad about every area I suppose.

In addition, you can take a look at Midway Hollow (homes located between Marsh and Midway, NW Highway and Walnut Hill. Also, Richardson Heights Estates as well as the Reserve, have a few sensational homes at that price point. I just moved into that neighborhood (Richardson Heights) with my wife and we are in our late 20's. (Ok, I'm turning 30 in 7 days and I'm ok with it...I'm ok with it...I'm ok with it? Heights Park/Mimosa park have recently recovered their tennis courts....there is a jogging trail....and a new (awesome supposedly) recreation center is being built this year right off of Arapaho for the area.

Here is one of my favorites right now in Richardson Heights:

803 Northlake Drive Richardson TX - Listing of a Home for Sale - Real Estate - MLS #11472753 - Realtor.com®

Built in 1960, 2,300 sq. ft., mature trees....
I realize the price is higher than 250k, but the market is suggesting it is over priced as it has been sitting for 140 days.

Here is one that my friend bought in Midway Hollow for a reference of that neighborhood:

No link as it has already been sold so it is no longer on Realtor.com/Trulia etc. Basically 1,800 sq. ft., large lot, built in 1950. They love it.

Good luck to you as I trust this is an exciting time for ya'll.

Ryan

(Lakewooder-I just about suggested Plano just to get a rise out of you!) I'm showing better self control these days.

I'm shocked at the restraint your showing. I might just fill the other poster in on Lakewood, but the response might be laced with a little satire and indirect prodding at the "locals" there. j/k.
