Does anyone else have recent experience with the wifi service on the TRE trains? It used to work great, with a few dead spots near Centerport, but hasn't worked at all for me in about a week. I connect with full signal strength but I can't reach any websites or even their portal web page with terms and conditions you have to agree to.

Can anyone else corroborate my experience or know if it's been made unavailable for some reason?

ride it to and from work everyday. half of the bilevel trains have zero access in spite of full bars and the conductors just shrug when you complain. if it does work, hurst/bell station to centerport is one big dead zone, as is south irving station to I-35

just tether from your smartphone, have no issues getting a clear connection on my blackberry

Yeah that's what I've been doing...Tmobile 3g service seems to be pretty consistent the whole way but it's not as fast as the TRE's 4G (when it actually works). I guess you can't really complain too much because it's a "free" service, but the inconsistency makes it useless for actual work because you can't count on it.

I occasionally ride the TRE when I want to return to Fort Worth for family stuff and such. I have noticed that a small number of the train cars have signal, but no connectivity. Also, there is a dead spot in the service itself somewhere between Richland Hills and Centreport. But overall, the service does work for me.
