Relocating (me and my husband and three kids 7,13,14) to the Dallas area summer 2013 and I need lots of help. Also looking for nice, friendly people to show us around. I have visited Richarson and Plano and really like those areas. Please Help! Thanks
1. Where can I look for work? (CNA and warehouse jobs)
2. schools? (colleges and elementary and high)
3. Nice area to rent? ($700-$950)

Currently a Nursing Student and my hubsand currently in school for carptner.
I will like to avoid unsafe neighborhoods and long commutes!

1.)
Did you check any of the job boards such as the work in Texas.

https://wit.twc.state.tx.us/WORKINTE...kiecheckflag=1

There are several warehouses on the east side of 75 in Plano.

2.) Collin County has the Collin County community college in Plano campus as well as one in
McKinney.
Richardson has Richland College nearby (a Dallas community college facility)
Richardson has UT-Dallas
Plano and Richardson are noted for some exemplary school systems.

3.) You may want to peruse some previous city data entries. I responded to a forum user who posted that they found an apartment in the Custer/Park area of Plano at a reasonable price.

Good Luck

1. Are you doing LPN or RN? Make sure your nursing school credits will transfer, and find a suitable nursing school here. There is no nursing school anywhere close to Plano or Richardson AFAIK. Richland College and UT Dallas do not have nursing programs. The DCCCD's only nursing program is at El Centro in downtown Dallas.
2. You will need to transfer your other state CNA certification to Texas before you can work here. That takes about a month. Here's the form: Form 5505-NAR - Request for Entry on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry Through Reciprocity
