I have done a google search but not much have turned up. I am suspecting there might be something new that may not currently be on google yet. I found a Rita and Truett Smith Public Library on google supposedly somewhere on Country Club Road, drove there and only saw an empty land. Lol

Not that I know of. You can use the Plano libraries (I think there is a fee) or the Wylie library.

Plano is supported solely by Plano property taxes and any fees they can get from out of city residents. ($50 each)

Wylie recieves county funding and is therefore required to offer free memberships to all Collin County residents. And it's actually closer to most of Murphy than the Plano library on 18th.

AND because Plano does offer reciprocal library services to Wylie library members, you can use that as a back way into the Plano library services.

The library you are referring to on Country Club Rd (aka FM 1378) is part of that shiny new rec center on Country Club Rd with an electronic sign, just south of Brown St. It's pretty hard to miss as it is the only building(s) between Brown St and FM 544 on Country Club Rd.

I should add that I just looked on Google and where it says the library is, is precisely where it is located. Really surprised anyone driving down there wouldn't turn into the parking lot where the City of Wylie electronic sign is, given that it is the only building there and is new and shiny.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to find and use the Wylie Public Library.

I did see the "shiny" building on my right, but my GPS indicated that my destination was on the left so that definitely threw me off. Also there was no sign that indicated it was a library or maybe I missed it. Now I know. Thanks.

The Wylie Public Library is my favorite library in the area. I feel like I am in a grand comfy lodge when I enter and plenty of seating to sit and read.

Under the electronic sign, it says Smith Library, but to be fair, if it was dark you wouldn't be able to see that.

Once you make the turn at the sign where it says "City of Wylie" above it, there is a small sign saying "Smith Library" with an arrow on it to tell you to go into the parking lot.

I got my Plano Library card renewed after I moved to Murphy and I showed them my Murphy address. They renewed it without any charge. This was about a year ago. I don't know if anything has changed since then.

That's sad, you should get a library like every one else. Murphy is a big town now.
