I wouldn't move to East Dallas unless you like being swarmed by hordes of mosquitoes in the summer. Find a place with little water around it and less foliage....you'll thank me later

Phoenix or Frisco?

So now big trees, creeks and a lake are minuses? Incidentally mosquitos don't bother me, I must taste sour or something...

Stanley Marcus wrote "Quest for the Best" and lived in East Dallas. So did H. L. Hunt, who was the richest man in the world when he was alive...

Frankly living in the suburbs in Texas isnt much different than the burbs in LA. I grew up in Torrance and live in Plano (outside of Dallas). My lifestyle is pretty similar. The only differences are the obvious ones (California has better weather, beaches, and mountains, and Texas is cheaper).
Yup! I have in fact lived there so long that at one point in my life I was from Texas, accent and everything and you are correct the burbs there aren't different from burbs here, especially Orange County, same bubble. Lived in Ft. Worth for 8 years and visit every year at least once because my sister lives there.
