Harry Hines is just the name of a Road. On parts of it there are many warehouses..it is also famous for adult massage parlors and has had a history of crime, drugs and prostitution. It also the home to Asian Trade Centers, mostly Korean businesses. Further south one of the largest Medical Centers including Parkland Hospital, UT Southwestern reside. Finally the road goes through a heavily Hispanic area and then goes right into downtown Dallas, near McKinney Ave. It is a very diverse road..4 lane road.

Sam Moon's is a great shopping area for inexpensive jewelry and accessories...and there is a big shopping center with clothes, shoes, furniture that has cropped up with Sam Moon as the Anchor. Crazy jazz, blues bar called Hole in the Wall with the best burgers around. All this near Harry Hines also,

Also don't forget to check out the original Sonny Bryan's BBQ on Inwood a couple of blocks off Harry Hines.

Oh, Lakewooder, I didn't realize how close I am to that Sonny Bryan's. I work in the heart of Korea town right off of Royal Lane and 35. I'll have to go there!

Yes, we eat there occasionally and also at the Mecca nearby, another Southern dive!

I went to one Korean restaurant with a couple of coworkers who didn't care much for it but I did. Our vice-president eats there quite often.

Default Remember When....

A little history for you: Harry Hines is part of what used to be U.S. Highway 77. The tag is actually still with the road, but you don't really see signs (you now see Spur 354 signage). Before there was I-35E, there was Harry Hines, the main highway that entered Dallas from the northwest. Near the area where LBJ crosses it, there used to be a speedway there for racing. Long since, it has been demolished and done away with. But this road has quite a bit of historical significance and must have been quite the place to be way back when. My dad used to work at a John Deere dealer on Harry Hines in the 1960's. I'm not sure if that office has been bought by someone else since.

So before all the craziness and the changes, there was a little bit of history.

Question! Are there any good outlets/hole in the wall/whatever places around there with cheap wigs/extensions/etc? I've been at my fair share of places down there, but usually only for bags and perfume. Anyone know of any?
