We are relocating to Dallas next month from Mobile, AL and would really appreciate some input on these 2 neighborhoods. There are 2 homes in each we would like to put offers in on, but would love to hear the pros/cons, benefits, etc of one area over the other. We have 8 yr old twin girls and challenging schools with great environments are most important. Grayhawk is Boal-Stafford-Lone Star. Hillcrest Meadows is Smith -Clark-Centennial. My husband will be working in Lewisville; the commute from Hillcrest Meadows is just a little closer. Any and all input on these neighborhoods & schools and surrounding areas would be SO very much appreciated since we plan to put in offers tomorrow as my husband starts work in 3 weeks. Thank you!!

Centennial is Frisco's top ranking HS while Lone Star is at the bottom of the list in the town. Taxes will be a little cheaper in Greyhawk sincs its Denton County.

Thank you jcl_cls02.. I was just reading about Centennial's reputation/test scores. Great information on taxes too. Very much appreciated!

Also, living at Hillcrest Meadows will be an easier commute compared to Grayhawk going to Lewisville. When leaving Grayhawk to Lewisvile, going down FM-423 during rush hour is a nightmare when going through Little Elm, Frisco, and The Colony going to 121.

We've only visited Frisco twice and both times were on the weekend so we have yet to travel during rush hour... so this is good to know. We only drove through Flower Mound and the west side of Frisco, so not all that familiar with the "other" side of Frisco. Do you happen to know how the Hillcrest Meadows neighborhood is? What we did like about Grayhawk was the kids we saw outside playing and just the general kid friendly feel. That being said, our realtor has suggested that we would probably like HM better. We'll be putting in an offer "blindly", so trying to get as much of a feel for the area as possible. Thanks again!

FM 423 will be under construction near Grayhawke (and in The Colony) for years. Widening it to 6 lanes out to 380.

In Grayhawk you pay Collin and Denton County school taxes.....just an FYI. Lived in Grayhawk 10 years, great sub-division. Just sold, took 2 days! Hoping my move to Lakeview in Sunset Pointe is just as great! Little Elm is up and coming just like Frisco was 10 years ago! Lonestar is still a new school and is also up and coming....it's new just like Centennial was at one time! Good luck with your move!

Thank you for your input SouthernBellInUtah & havinfun924. We put in an offer in on the Hillcrest Meadows house so we shall see. It has a great backyard and close to 121. The Grayhawk house is newer/wont need any updating... if our offer isnt accepted we might go for the Grayhawk.
I've looked at the schools in Little Elm and they have very low ratings. Can you please provide more insight about its future? Thanks again!

I realized the same few months back as well since I am in market to purchase a home and was not earlier getting a reason about why Grayhawk is cheaper though its in Frisco. I experienced a bad traffic once driving on 423 during rush hours to see one property, my wife don't want to face this traffic nightmare for going to work in every morning.

Grayhawke is in the Frisco ISD, not Little Elm's.
