We may be relocating from the beautiful Colorado mountains to hot as hell Dallas. Our budget will be between $500,000-750,000. We would prefer privacy, acreage and outdoor recreation areas. We do not have kids so school systems do not matter to us. Privacy I mean privacy, we don't wanna see our neighbors!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Will you need to drive anywhere in the DFW area on a regular basis (office, DFW or Love Field airports, etc)? If so, how many minites do you want to drive to get there? That will make a big difference as to where we recommend you start your search. $500-700k + acreage can definitely be done, but it will be on the outskirts of the metroplex which means long drive times.

Yes my husband will need to commute into Dallas 2-3/wk. Prefer no more than an hour commute. Thanks for clarifying.

Where, generally, in Dallas? Downtown? Preston Center? Galleria area? One of the major hospitals? Dallas itself is pretty big. A location that's an hour from the Galleria could be an hour and a half (or longer) to the VA Hospital.

God... It'd be great to live in heart of metroplex with no neighbors with a acre or so. $1MM+ or more I'd assume.

Welcome to Dallas...the city everyone outside of Dallas claims is the cheapest place in the country to live.

I'd look on Preston, Forest, Walnut Hill south of 635. There are a lot of older homes with mature landscaping and plenty of trees...for you budget, I don't think you would be able to afford complete privacy as in Beverly road, lower Preston, closer to 75. I'm sure those homes run into the millions. Check Farmer's Branch on Valley View as well. A lot of hidden gems.

Acres and privacy within an hour of downtown during traffic time for $750k?

Keep dreaming.
