When will they be here?
What kind of things do they like to do?
Indoor or outdoor activities?

Good luck...weather that time of year is either lovely or horrible.

Fort Worth Stockyards and daily cattle drive
Fort Worth water gardens and Sundance Square downtown
Dallas Arboretum
Dallas Heritage Village
Klyde Warren Park and Nasher Sculpture Garden
Sixth Floor museum and Dealy Plaza (JFK assassination stuff)
Pioneer Park sculpture

If they know the show Dallas, stop by Southfork Ranch and take your picture at the front gate. Then keep driving. The tour itself is a huge ripoff...

Two to three hour drive?

Inner Space Caverns, in between Waco and Austin! It's great!
Heard Museum near McKinney. (It's a nature/natural history museum and has an outdoor nature walk and indoor center as well)

Not sure in the Fort Worth zoo is open then, but if so, consider that as well.
