Am moving to dallas in a month. I would like to work as a caregiver or direct care staff working the mentally challenged. Anyone know places i can start to look at?

Look in the yellow pages under homes-mentally retarded/developmentally disabled. Sometimes they list companies that run group homes. I know a company named Educare is always putting an ad in the paper looking for direct care workers in McAllen--they might also be located in Dallas. Direct care workers are always needed so I'm sure that you'll find something. I'm actually taking my sister out of the institution and placing her in a group home so I'm familiar with a lot of the companies in the rio grande valley only.
Or try the Texas Workforce in Dallas--it is an employment office but it is free to look for jobs.
Good luck!

Terrell State Hospital is located right around there. Denton has a State School.
