I just moved in a couple of weeks ago, and i think "The W" of GP doesn't live up to what some people say Grand Prairie is.

Housing:Inexpensive housing, there are new houses, and old houses still kept up well.

Neighborhoods: Very family friendly neighborhoods. You will always see someone out jogging or walking there dog without a worry on their mind. Neighborhoods are very well kept up.

Shopping: The Parks Mall is literally 15 minutes away.

Entertainment: 2 movie theaters, (United Artists and Movies 16)

Food: You have your basic Chic-Fil-A,McDonalds,Chili's and what not.

Materialistic"ness": Not really a problem with this, but in this area of GP you will always spot a Mercedes,BMW, or Porsche.

Schools: Home to Florence Hill Elementary(academically acceptable) and Reagan Middle School (academically acceptable).

You would think of The W of Grand Prairie as if it were another city alone.

And as for illegal immigrants and crime, not really much of it going on around here.

So yes City-Data, there is still a good part of Grand Prairie to "hang your hat"

Actually, both of those schools are Recognized, not Academically Acceptable.

Any update on the neighborhood?
I am renting in the grand prairie area and am looking to buy in this neighborhood.
I like the homes/yards.
I assume it is still nice to live here?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
David
