Heading up this weekend for the NRA Annual Meeting, and there's a group of somewhere between 12-20 of us (depending on who's spouses join us) wanting to get together for a corporate dinner, preferably along the N Stemmons Freeway by the KB Hutchison Convention Center. We'd really love to find someplace casual that puts out a mean steak - we're not interested in ambiance or "trendy" - just truly outstanding steak with great service from a LOCAL steak house. We're okay with traveling 10-20 miles for really good food.
Any suggestions?

Sorry - Pappa's doesn't cut it for us...... Danged shame The Shed is long gone - that was our old favorite many moons ago. I'll look at Nick and Sam's - thanks!

Nick and Sam's looks like it's going to be a bit too dressy for us - we're just a bunch of country folk that're going to be footsore after a full day at the convention that're looking for a great steak in a casual atmosphere.

HELP!

+1 on The Keg for your group. While it won’t be Al Biernat’s filet, it’s a solid choice.

I have been all over the US and eaten at some of the finest steakhouses in NY, SF, LA, and Chicago and Pappas is as good as any I have ever been to. If that doesn't cut it for you I don't know what will.

If it doesn't cut it because it isn't casual then that explains it. If you think you are going to get a better steak then I don't what to tell you.

Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill in Addison isn’t too far off Stemmons and is also really good and casual.

Pappa’s has been wildly inconsistent in my experience. When they’re ON, it’s an absolutely fantastic meal. When they’re not, it’s a bare step above Saltgrass. (OK, that’s hyperbole, but relative to what you’re paying it’s about the same value).
