But let's be honest, we can't discuss IQ without getting into Rick and Morty. That show requires a VERY HIGH IQ to watch. Really, we should just have people watch Rick and Morty and then if they get all the jokes, we know they are a 200+ IQ individual who gets the subtlety and nuance that is Rick and Morty.

Let's compare bank accounts - corrected for age if you'd like - sometime.

1.) I don't think Neanderthal DNA would make you taller. The original humans that left Africa (haplogroup L3, where everyone not African...and some Africans descend from) were taller and leaner than Neanderthals. NDT's were short, broad and thickly built. Not well suited to stalking prey. The Africans used tools to greater effect and ended up thriving. Obviously there was some intermingling with NDT's but the Homo Sapiens are mostly what's left standing.

2.) IQ tests can be helpful when measuring within a population of people that have had the same educational opportunities and access. However, it's not very helpful when comparing people with vastly different cultures. Measuring "intelligence" is similar to measuring "athleticism." What would you consider athletic?: Someone that can power-clean 400 lbs and squat 3x their body weight; someone with a 40" vertical leap that can run a sub 10.5-sec 100m dash; a person that can swim like Michael Phelps? IQ tests aren't useless but it's never a good idea to draw major conclusions from them.

3.) Conservative vs. Liberal and levels of Masculinity? I mean, what is more masculine......a conservative guy that works with his hands, drives a truck and owns guns or a soft-spoken liberal professor that is trained in Muay Thai and could beat the brakes off the conservative guy? If I can whoop your ***, it doesn't really matter if you're more "manly" than I am does it?

People in large cities tend to be liberal because there's a natural desire to share when living in a more communal space. You see and experience a wide range of people and look at decisions in terms of 'the greater good.'

People in rural areas tend to be conservative because you're more likely to be geographically/socially isolated. Your identity is formed through self-reliance because there's literally no-one else around to help you.
1. Vis a vis Stormfront.........there is no better way to say you have nothing than to try to derail a conversation in that way. Shame on you.

2. What you think about neanderthal DNA does not matter. What legit pros think does. Look it up.

3. IQ to a great extent is innate.......one is born with both height potential and IQ potential. Once again what you think does not = is.

4. With your #3 you are obfuscating and of course stereotyping in a way that is grossly offensive if you'd take a second and think it through.

I've lived in cities 90%+ of my life - I don't need help. People on your side do.

I've seen some studies that show certain African countries have average IQs in the 70s. Does that mean you have a whole country of people who are mentally disabled? No, it just means that they aren't taught how to think for an IQ test. It's merely a lack of education.

It's very difficult to actually gauge natural ability, since outside of the very smart and seriously disabled, it's pretty plastic anyway.
Education does not equal IQ. And for nearly 100 years there have been language free IQ tests.

Why do people hide from this kind of thing?

I greatly appreciate the recognition for the assessment that I made. Occasionally, I say things that have merit.

Except that particular statement has an onslaught of exceptions to it.

If thinking only weak men vote left of center helps you sleep at night then fine. But there is more than anecdotal evidence that that is not a prevailing truth. It's a pretty cringeworthy assessment that may only fly if your entire world view is based on Texas or the American South.

I have to agree with this 100%. Working in the corporate world for over 20 years, I've met/worked for dozens of people who had impressive degrees yet weren't "smart" enough to know if they should wind their backside or scratch their watch.

However, I have a friend I've known since middle school. He dropped out of 9th grade after failing to pass 6 classes in 3 years. After a point, school just didn't interest him anymore.

At 17, he started as an electrician apprentice and worked his way from there. Today, he's a supervisor that runs a crew of 60 men for a huge refinery in south Texas. He pulls in well over 6 figures, to the point where he's owned 4 different homes over the years, all were almost paid off before he upgraded. His current home, which he bought less than 8 years ago, is valued at over $350K and will be paid off within 2 years.

That's $350K in south Texas, here, it would be about $1 million. It's a 3500 sqft home built in 2010, in a subdivision but sitting on an acre of land, with a huge pool/connecting hot tube/water fall thing and a massive outdoor kitchen complete with TV and surround sound they added after buying.

The only reason why it hasn't already been paid off...him and his wife (she has a college degree and makes less than him) bought a 130 acre ranch about 30 minutes outside of San Saba 3 years ago. It's their retirement land and right now they are in the process of saving up to build their dream home which will happen once he retires and sells the main house.

So yeah, education is great however hardly a way to gauge intelligence...

This country lost it's way once it decided "everyone needs a college degree". How about fixing high school so it's more like college? Where kids can jump start a trade career and others can jump start a career that requires a degree?
