1.) Buy your own projector, they sell them in basically every major electronics store.
2.) Why do you want someone else's used furniture? Gross.
3.) HOAs cannot prevent you from adding solar panels.
4.) New builds with tons of square footage and a neighborhood pool will by and large NOT be built on large lots, particularly in your price range. If you want a bigger lot, you'll have to spend more money or live in an older part of town.
5.) Hardwood floors can be installed by you, the buyer. All the houses you'll be looking at will be slabs, so installing a floating floor is a project that you can do yourself.
6.) If you want mature trees, you'll need to look at older properties. Go back to west Plano or older parts of Frisco & McKinney.
Doesn't take much to be a jackass, as you proved clearly. Whether I want to buy my own projector or furniture is none of your freaking business! Perhaps reading is not your strong suit, but I clearly mentioned them as NOT mandatory.

Are Prosper schools as good as McKinney?

Prosper's high school is ranked higher, but elementary and middle schools are basically the same.

One thing to worry about Prosper ISD though, is the high likelihood that your kids will be rezoned to a different school at some point. We will have to deal with this next year or the year after, as Cockrell Elementary is bursting at the seams after Whitley Place got built and all these new families moved in.

McKinney ISD has planned for their student population growth quite a bit better in my opinion.

Do us all a favor and stay where you are. I wouldn't want you as a neighbor.

I would be careful with Great schools website. My high-school was ranked top 5% in the entire united states by multiple publications (4.0 GPA with 94 average wouldn't even get you top 25% of your graduation class) yet Great Schools had it ranked at the time 5 out of 10 which they consider "average school"

My school was about as far from average as possible, it was a competitive top 5% school. What funny is great-schools website had 5 out of the 7 elementary schools that feed into it either a 9 or 10 out of 10 but gave the high-school only 5 out of 10 (that literally doesn't make any logically sense). They where basically saying "yeah almost all of the elementary schools are top 3% rank upper middle class kids but they are extremely average"

Yes, considering the student body didn't change, facilities (or lack of them) shouldn't result in that significant a downgrade. Somebody mentioned the txschools.gov website and also looking at the NMSF list. I assume you consider them more dependable than Great Schools? Anything else?

What are the parameters of success for high schools - SAT scores, admission to Ivy Leagues, etc. Best way, if at all possible, to get such info?

As I mentioned earlier, this purchase is planned such that we don't have to move until kids graduate high school. So, ideally, schools at all age levels should be good with the high schools ideally being great.

BTW, what was your school that was so unfairly treated by Great Schools?

I wouldn't say unfair treated it's just they place emphasis on variables you can't control (not having enough minorities or not having enough economically disadvantaged kids can hurt your score). TX gov ratings had it this year 90 out of 100 for both state test/student achievement and 93 out of 100 for college readiness yet this is supposedly an "average school"

The highschool in question is JJ Pearce. The absolute lowest rating I can find is Newsweek ranking it #179 out of 3240 Texas high-schools which would still make it a fringe top 5% school on the lowest rating website.

There is literally nothing even close to average about the school which is why I recommend you also look at other websites to get a more broad picture
