Thanks! I was on the fence but am going to check it out. Do you know anything about the academics?

Thank you for all of the feedback, everyone! I will be in town to visit schools this week and we will see what happens. If anyone has any additional feedback, please feel free to share!

If you live near POP, you’ll have option to switch to Plano ISD, in case you don’t like the school or face change in financial circumstances.

Who doesn't love an update? (If you don't, skip this post.)

We are relocating in the spring/early summer and we have decided to take the year off. I'll be homeschooling, we will do some traveling, and we will soak up the opportunity to live by our able-bodied retired grandparents. I'm a former teacher and I am interested to see how this goes.

I felt very rushed and pressured to make a decision with our timeline and didn't feel like any of the schools we visited were the perfect fit for us. With a rising second and third grader, I knew the process might be a challenge.

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions of great private schools! I checked out Good Shepherd based on a recommendation from someone here and I loved it!

I think that’s awesome. I know someone whose family - through a strange series of business events- was able to live overseas for a year when she & her sibling were in middle school. Her mom homeschooled and they traveled a ton. I would love to do that! Your kids will probably learn more next year (and not just academically) than any other year of elementary school.
