Supposedly there has been a string of fentanyl related deaths in the metroplex. I'd always read about the fentanyl pandemic happening in the midwest, west coast, everywhere but here. I guess it's ramping up here now. As a parent to a teenager and a pre teen, it's concerning especially the one at Plano East which is right up the street from me. This isnt to bash any school or school district, just be aware.

The one kid thought she was taking a Percocet, why in the world was she even doing that? What in the heck is going on. Yes, parents need to get involved.

Even if parents are involved as much as possible, it's hard to keep your kid safe 100% of the time. There was a freshman in college near where I live in Houston who came home for Christmas, apparently ordered a Xanax over the internet, and then died of fentanyl overdose. It's being treated as murder by the police.

If you go back some time, Plano was a hotbed of heroin use.

Drugs are everywhere. No place is immune.

Just FYI - that young lady was at Plano Senior - not Plano East. With all the bashing that happens on this forum about the "crappy ghetto school"Plano East is, it certainly doesn't need false info making it worse.

That said, Just Say No didn't work. Your Brain on Drugs didn't work. Perhaps the fact that you might end up buying drugs laced with fentanyl and die might finally be the deterrent.

I think the “one pill can kill” campaign is extremely persuasive. It just needs to be A LOT louder!

When I was in high school Plano had issues with steroids.

I disagree. When one pill doesn't kill then teens think it's all fearmongering.
