Avalon's (Castle Hills)

If you count Addison - I could easily double the list.

Oh FYI the Italian Villa I'm talking about is in Allen. The one in Carrollton I've never eaten at.

Love Taco Delite too for fast food.

If you want really mom and pop type...Mom's Cafe in Carrollton, The Rainbow Grill in Downtown Carrollton...neither of which are fancy or real elaborate but man you can get some good breakfast at Mom's and a great hamburger at The Rainbow for lunch.

Also, there is a soul food restaurant on Frankford right off of I35...Yummy...great food. I just can't remember the name of the place. Really awesome though. :-)

Aboca's in Richardson Heights Shopping Center. I like it better than Cafe Amore. Portions are cheap and (too) huge. Try the pizza & they give you this yummy garlic oil with bread.

Amigos Comida Casera on Belt Line next to Bruce Miller Nursery. Food comes out fast, but other service can be slow.

If you like middle eastern food, you should definitely try Afrah on Beltline and Greenville. The kebabs, falafel, and shwarma are really nice. They even make a burger that's especially good. The service here is always slow.

Around the corner on Polk and Sherman (?) there's Del's Charcoal burgers. This tiny place gets really packed at lunchtime, especially with Richardson PD.

More for kitsch than food, if you can stand a smoky restaurant, and like a good old greasy spoon, there's Nikki's on Campbell and Coit. I dislike the smokiness, but walking into this place reminds be of being in a very green and gold 70's movie. Breakfast or burgers.. if you order the taco salad you're just asking for it!

Whew.. I think I've talked too much now!

Great suggestions guys!!! keep 'em coming!!!

One more to add:

Kebab and Kurry- Richardson, Our FAV Indian...I've been going there for 20 plus years!!!
**It's run by a really nice family (not original owners, though they've been there for the last 5 or 10 years...)...the son is supposedly going to open another in the near future, but he is still trying to decide on location. Delicious!!!

We went with a group to Gregory's in downtown Plano last night. Very good. Great food, great service and cozy set-up. They've got a patio too, but it was over 100F so we skipped that. My beef filet with black truffle sauce was perfectly made. And DH loved his seafood medley and chocolate souffle.
