Just stay north of the Trinity River and you should be fine.

Actually, it doesn't just have to be Uptown. Just make sure you're South of Mockingbird, East of the Dallas North Tollway, North of I-30, and West of White Rock Lake. There are some questionable areas in there, but for the most part you want to be in/near:

Uptown
Knox
Henderson
M Streets

Jamesey,

The areas mentioned above are great but all have it's pros and cons. I was planning to move to a loft in LC but was told because most of the people living there are young you will have to deal with more noise than usual, empty beer cans and cig. butts lying around the pool etc...

My personal suggestion is to get an apartment finder and let them know exactly what you are wanting. They will send you listings with pictures, details, contacts etc... Once you see something you like you can always call to inquire further. If you are a getting a deal etc...be sure to get that on paper. Apartments can be notorious for not keeping their word.

If you want an apartment finder I can give you her contact info. I've been living in Dallas for 7 yrs now (apartment) and have used her every single time. There is no charge to, the apartments pay her.

Let me know and good luck!

it could not have gone to the top of the list unless someone posted a new comment--
and that did not happen until TXAmbit posted
