Correct. Many folks in NY living on Long Island would kill for a one hour commute. In DC near the beltway, same thing.

Here in DFW, it seems that anything over 15 miles in considered remote.

And remember that many, especially younger people, have no desire to live in a rural area at all (I'm not one of those, prefer upscale rural like where you are).

You don't have to stop posting all together though Beth....we love having new blood join the ranks here.

Here's a great article from 2003 on your area (Six Lakes in Spainish):

As Seen in The Dallas Morning News

Published August 30, 2003

Wendy and Philip Coe were house hunting four years ago when they pulled into Seis Lagos, a gated community in southern Collin County. They said they immediately liked the large wooded lots, custom homes, six small lakes, 24-hour security, clubhouse and pool. They bought the first house they toured, the first day it came on the market. "We absolutely love it," said Mr. Coe, 38.

Also, the commute can be shortened to 45 minutes if one takes Parker Rd to FM 2551/ Murphy Rd .Then and catches the train in Richardson. The train ride is only 30 min from Arapaho or George Bush Stations. We are also not getting off the train at the first Downtown stop which shaves a few more minutes. Good Luck to all

I believe Stargazer's husband works in Downtown Dallas. She mentioned this in a previous post. She was looking down in your area at one point in time.

An hour commute is not bad? Well, maybe not in California.
