Husband and I new to area. We are in are both 31, no kids, and looking for a church in or within a 25 minute drive of Lewisville. Looking for a casual atmosphere (jeans, etc allowed) and a group or large church that is welcoming to us. Any ideas?

Thanks!

yes--hugh church across freeway from Grapevine Mills Mall--has service Saturday evening so you can sleep in Sunday--gets lots of people from surrounding area that used to be "other" religions--
I would say a yuppie church but might probably would offend people...but the people I know that go there are yuppies...

Yep, that cross on the outside of the church is the only one you will find.

We are non-demoninational and definately NOT bible bangers; however, we visited there three times and had a few concerns:

No crosses inside the church
Too much hip hop and not enough religion
Pastor thinks he is 20...and he is NOT
It was like a trip to Disneyworld (according to our kids)
My kids hated the sunday school. Their comment was "We never talk about God". However...they made crafts (again, stars...not crosses)

Please so check it out...it may be for you. However, I also suggest looking on the internet for other churches. Coppell offers Coppell Bible church, Carrollton has a few choices and Lewisville has a few. They are all over the place. Good luck.

I agree....it was too casual for me and I was uncomfortable there. Who knows, maybe I am just old school. I am also non denominational and I grew up going to Bible churches. I have been wanting to try Coppell Bible but haven't yet....doesn't help either that we are moving soon.

Gateway Church in Southlake is dynamic and not too far of a drive. AWESOME WORSHIP. Robert Morris is a dynamic preacher. They are not so into "seeker sensitive" that they seem too trendy, but still casual.

You are talking about the Fellowship Church in Grapevine, correct? I sent them an email when I first moved here with questions and one reply regarding dress code. They stated that pretty much any attire is acceptable, but "business casual" is what they want? They sounded pretty adamant about that. Weird to be such a casual church...that is why I'm confused.
