Our PO takes them too, call and check if they do it on a certain day of the week.

You can fill-in the form online or download, print and type in. Most of the PO have passport service and they can take your photo and apply it. Passport port services are available all through the week between 9-4 or something. Some PO's, they do it on saturday too(timings may vary). Check before you go.

CVS or Costco... everywhere else will rip you off bad. They will call you to expedite, and if you don't, they put your passport on the shltlist. Mine came down to two days before my trip. Be prepared to go to the Philadelphia office if you don't have at least 2 months.

I have applied recently for my daughter in New castle PO and have taken photograph at the PO. I have received the passport in 3 weeks.

Play the lottery while you're at it. I didn't have such luck.

We live downstate, but my husband and I applied for our passports at the Ocean View post office in mid-March and had our photos taken there, and we had our passports before the end of the month. Easy and painless.
