A rabid raccoon was shot and killed by an Ocean View resident this week, less than two miles from my house. This wasn't on the news, but I heard about it from a trustworthy source.

A dead fox is a good fox to me, whether it has rabies or not!!! Its one reason our Quail population stays so low, and one of the reasons it took many years to re introduce Turkeys to Delaware.

Fox are everywhere around my area. Some are quite brave and will hang out in my neighborhood, and those are the ones I fear the most. I have never seen so many fox until I moved here. A boy who lives a mile down the road from me was attacked by a rabid fox in his own backyard in broad daylight. This was about nine years ago. He still has scars all over his arm from the attack.

I was riding my bike down Woodland Avenue the other week (which is right smack in the middle of town) and a fox was on the side of the road up ahead. It stopped, stared at me, and then started coming towards me!! Then, a car came by and it veered into a soybean field. Needless to say, I turned down another street and pedaled fast!
