I'm a 22 year old professional in the finance field and thinking of accepting a job offer in Denver. A little bit about myself, I'm Australian born Chinese and grew up in England. Very into sports and love nights out. Only problem is that I've never been to the US or know anyone to start with, so I would like to seek your opinion as to how life would be like for someone who knows exactly 0 people.

I think you need an adventure. Tens of thousands have successfully accomplished what you are setting out to do. You are not alone. There are hundreds of ways to make new friends.

Congrats!

I have personally jetted off to another country (New Zealand, Hong Kong) to take a job, knowing nobody at all. Admittedly, these were 1-2 year projects so I always knew I'd come home but I think I know how you are feeling!

Whether you enjoy Denver is really a matter of what you like, how comfortable you are being in a new place, and whether you like what Denver has to offer (i.e. the weather, the people, etc.). Overall I'd say it's a relatively easy city to settle into, as cities go.

Denver's not bad but compared to London you'll find it lacking in nightlife, culture and socializing.

As for sports, there's a lot of local teams and some athletic clubs you can get involved with. You can play baseball, tennis, soccer, volleyball and almost anything else that you like.

My brother is on the Aussie-rules footie team The Denver Bulldogs. They are very welcoming to new people and the group is a LOT of fun (even if you aren't very athletic). I know there are some guys your age on the team and most have only lived here a short time. They come from all over as well. Let me know if you want some more info!
