Default Visited area this past week - need advice?

So my family and I went to Denver this past week and just got back last night. We saw some possibilities both north and west of Denver - Thornton, Longmont, Westminster, and Boulder. Boulder was a little out of our price range, but beautiful. Westminster was good. Thornton and Longmont were more in our price range, but traffic could be crazy on I-25. We also wanted to check out Highlands Ranch and Littleton, but didn't get to look at much south of town. I'd like to know from some of you who are locals what the pros and cons of each area are - schools, traffic, crime, commute, etc. We know now that we're going to be closer to $200K on the price of the house. TIA!

when are you thinking of moving? $200,000 will get you a two or three bedroom house in Littleton or Highlands Ranch. Where will you be working?
