I was doing some reading, and I thought I came across that Sprint and Direct TV have call centers in the area. I am looking to move to the Denver area and will probably apply for one of these positions. Has anyone worked there or knows someone that has, I would like some feedback on how they treat their employees.

I have heard neither good nor bad things about theses two companies. I know that the pay is around $12 an hour, and it is kind of hard to make ends meet on a $25k a year salary in Denver. I last made that little money 17 years ago, but my rent was only $350/month.

If call centers are your thing, you should also apply at Dish Network. They have a major call center here, and their corporate headquarters are here as well. Maybe you could impress the right person and move up quickly.

The cable and satellite industry is huge here in Denver. I work at Starz located in Englewood. Plenty of cable jobs out there.

Wow, Starz, Dish Network, Sprint and others. I should't have a problem finding a job. However I am coming from Florida. Harder to find a job with an out-of-state address.

@davidv Call Centers aren't my thing, but nI have many years customer service, and like you said, All I need is to get my foot in the door and I know I can move up quick.

@Timmyy Do you enjoy working for Starz? Is it have to get hired on?

@ shaunsindelman You guys have any connections. Can you pull some strings. Also, are there reasonable apartments close by worth checking out?

Thanks for your input guys.

I certainly do appreciate it.

Brian

Just saw this post after you emailed me. I am up on the fifth floor. From your emails I thought you were trying to move here. I think I got you confused with the creator of this thread.

Well, I sort of have some connections. My mother-in-law is a recruiter in the HR department here. The only thing I could do is walk your resume down to her. It all depends what type of job you are looking for. It is a great place to work. In fact, my mother-in-law, brother-in-law and my wife all work here. That says something. Liberty Media is our parent company and they are huge.

I'm curious, call centers tend to be in places with a low cost of living and cheap labor. Where in the Denver area meets these requirements?

The Dish call center is located in or close to Old Littleton which is not a place with a low cost of living, for the most part. There is affordable housing near there though.
