So true about downtown Seattle! Except for the occasional theater night, most of our friends don't even go there much anymore - the traffic is just an absolute nightmare and parking costs are just not worth it. When we go to a Mariner's game, we use the park'n ride, then take the bus down to Safeco. When we head into 'the city' we typically hang out in Fremont, Capitol Hill or Ballard, where you can still find street parking most of the time.

Getting back to my original post, I appreciate all of the great responses. The only area I'm not convinced about is food costs, though I know most of you feel Denver is cheaper. During our last scouting trip, I just didn't see any real difference in grocery prices or restaurant food.

Hope Rockies tickets are cheaper than Mariners ( definitely not worth their weight in gold).

All thoughts are appreciated!!

Hey now, I'd give one of my pinky toes to have M's season tix.

Use Stubhub to find Rox tickets. Outside of opening day, fireworks nights, and weekends (when all the faux baseball fans come out to pretend they like baseball), tickets are amply available and reasonable.

I don't understand the concern about food costs though (). From what I gather, my family is at a lower social class than you, and we don't have any problem with the cost of food here. Even if the food costs here were 20% more, you'd make up for it in other ways quite easily!
