I was wondering where the Japanese people in Denver are concentrated for the most part. I need this, because I need to find a good Japanese market and, more importantly, I need to find a place where I can buy recordings of Japanese TV with commercials or just other Japanese media. Thank you in advance.

Pacific Mercantile at 19th & Lawrence is the old, good Japanese market. The Japanese community here in Denver is dispersed and assimilated.

That stuff was hard to find in Denver when I lived there in the 1990s, when people still watched video tapes. Now good luck finding it anywhere. I think you are going to have to find it on the internet, or on Japanese language satellite TV channels. Times are changing. Here are the places that used to carry Japanese videos.

Honya Japanese Bookstore
1905 Lawrence St. Denver, CO 80202
(303) 292-1473
(My info is that this closed in 2007 or 2008)

Creative Video
1550 S. Federal Blvd., Denver, CO, 80219
(303) 936-8123
(I'd be very surprised if this is not closed too)

The area you are looking for is Sakura Square in Downtown Denver. The old Japan Town. It looks like it will fade into history in 2014.
