My daughter is currently in middle school in Boulder, but we are commuting from the mountain foothills and I am not sure I can do this for the next five years. I would move to Boulder if I could afford it, but it's not possible, so I'm looking around for an affordable alternative location with a great high school in or around Denver. I know the communities of Boulder fairly well, and we've looked at Lafayette as an option, but I'm curious about communities in Denver, Arvada and Littleton. We'll be looking for a 2 bedroom, pet friendly townhome under 200K that is in a safe neighborhood with parks, open space and/or bike trails and within walking distance to restaurants and the like. I'm looking forward to your comments about neighborhoods and high schools. My daughter is very active in theater and currently goes to an arts school in Boulder. Thank you in advance!

Default Bvsd

1. Narrow your search to BVSD.
2. Hire a buyer's agent and tell him/her your criteria.

We can't afford to live in Boulder but don't want to move away from Colorado just yet, so we're exploring other areas.

We have been researching the schools. First and foremost I would recommend checking out greatschools.org and school digger.com. Ralston Valley in Arvada is a great high school school, Many in Douglas county (HR area), Monarch in Louisville is also very highly rated.

Hope that helps. I do have to say that I haven't found most folks advice on the Denver forum very helpful. I'm not sure why but it just doesn't seem to be well used by folks in Denver as with some of the other city forums. Personally I've asked a few questions about preschools and schools and gotten zilch for feedback.

Thanks dmatma...I don't mind not receiving advice, but I don't understand why some have to be rude and antagonistic.

Yet another rude reply. I am from Denver and thinking about moving back. But crap like this makes me thing twice. You have nothing better to do than search on my posts doing city research and then be rude about it.

Why don't you go back to trolling somewhere else.
