Are liquor store and casino owners criminals simply for providing people something that they want?
Hmmm...When was the last time you heard of liquor stores having turf wars?

And why not? Because it is legal, taxed, and regulated.

Gangs generate the majority of their money from drugs. Turf wars are often about drug dealing locations. If you can't see the connection here, I can't help you.

BTW NSM HAD territory in Sunnyside decades ago and that is in North Denver (Since you are from CA North Denver is NW Denver geographically speaking).

Gangs generate the majority of their money from welfare. They are birthed out of a generational culture of not working and living off others. I guess they get so bored with all the idle time, they go around shooting each other.

Of course it does, but please look at the incarceration statistics again and tell that they are not a significant contributing factor.

Agreed but there are too many variables plus a corrupted justice system.. I dont agree that people serve prison time for small time offenses but killers , murderers , rapist , etc deserve a bullet to the head.

It is a corrupt justice system which is why calling for more prison as a solution doesn't make much sense. Our justice system disproportionately targets poor minorities.

20th Century America
Prohibition and Depression Era Gangsters

If the Old West Outlaws get a lot of historic attention, a close second are the gangsters of the 1920’s Prohibition era and the 1930's Depression period. Feared and revered, these American gangsters often controlled liquor sales, gambling, and prostitution, while making popular, silk suits, diamond rings, guns, booze and broads.
