Hello! I am going to be moving from Chicago to be working in lonetree. I am a single, female runner and am curious if it is worth the commute to live in Washington park, Littleton, or cherry creek area? Thoughts/ suggestions??

I think it would be worth it if you are used to city living and like it. Lone Tree is über suburban and that can make you crazy if it's not your thing.

West Wash Park has great highway access and is about 16 miles to Lone Tree. Are you going to be commuting during rush hour? It's going to be around 40 minutes if you are. If not, it can be as little as 20.

It is worth the commute to live in Wash Park. Not a bad trek down to Lone Tree.

Probably not rush hour but late at night or mid morning

Is light rail an option? Do you prefer track running or trail running? Are you into urban or suburban settings? Renting or buying?

I would consider something along the highline canal.

Commuting by car look north, south or east so you are not driving into the sun.

as others have stated, the trek from Lone Tree to Wash Park is a quick one, but not during rush hour. I would say this commute could be close to 45 minutes.

Having said that, if I could afford it, I would live in Wash Park over Littleton and Cherry Creek with no hesitation even with the commute time.

It is very easy to live in Washington Park and commute to Lone Tree by driving but it can be heavy in rush hour. It can be more easily done if you use Public Transit. We have an excellent rail Line that comes from a station near Washington Park, Louisiana/Pearl, and goes right to Lone Tree with Two Station. In addition, all of Lone Tree is covered by a Call-n-Ride so you can get a small bus from the station to your work and back to the station. Also, since you are a runner, I suspect you are in good shape to bike. You can bike to the stations and put your bike on buses or rail and easily get back and forth.

Going from Littleton would involve east to west and is easy driving but more time on the bus. Cherry Creek can be done but again more time on the bus and rail.

Here is some links that may help you, the RTD website RTD

Then Wash Park is a no brainer as long as your budget fits.

Worth it IMO, even if you're doing rush hour. I live just north of Cherry Creek, commute to Lone Tree quite often during rush hour for work. It's not terrible if you leave around 7AM.
