Hi All,

My job is moving from the tech center to a location downtown. My commute isn't so bad from Columbine to DTC but it's not that great either.

I've had to go downtown occasionally for meetings, etc. and the drive time was easily double of what I'm used to.

I'm considering using light rail from the Mineral Station park-n-ride, but I've never used public transit before. How is that line (D-line?)? Is it hard to park at that station? Overcrowded? I'm open to any tips anyone has on how to make this commute in 30ish minutes one way.

Thanks

Parking is a problem after 7:30 am. If you can take the bus to Mineral then take light rail, you should be good.

I typically get to the office at 7:00 so if there's parking at 6:00ish then I should be fine?

My husband takes the D line from Mineral station when he has to work (M-F). The "D" line is always on time and you could also take the "C" depending on where downtown you need to go. The train for the most part is usually on time. As 2beindenver said sometimes parking might be an issue but there are lots of parking space, although they might not be close to the rail entrance.

I'd take this as an opportunity to get acquainted with public transit. I've never had a job where I could take advantage but if I was going from one fixed location to another fixed location, daily, I'd be all over light rail. No parking worries, no commuting back and forth worries, a dream come true you ask me.
