No one has any input on this brighton zip code, neighborhood? no realtors out there? makes me think negatively with the NO reactions.....hmmm.

I wish I could help! Brighton is far away from downtown Denver (~30 miles) and I never have any reason to go there, although I've been there before. It never struck me as a place that would have any issues with crime or poor schools, but I don't know for sure.

I work out in that area. Schools are fine but are not rated great. The only negative about the area is it is right off I-76. I don't know how close this particular house is to the interstate. If you don't have that view or noise then being that close is a plus as you can easily get to downtown Denver in about 25 minutes. I really doubt you have to worry about any crime out there. It seems the city of Brighton is attempting to build out in that direction towards the interstate.

One of our customers lives out there, so I've been there before (to that subdivision).
I think that it's nice, definitely not a bad area, and not near one. It really is just a new-suburban neighborhood that feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, and is not directly connected/intertwined with the older, more established part of Brighton. The housing tracts out there feel unfinished, like there is still work to be done and there are a bunch of empty spots in and between the subdivisions. It's surrounded by farms. The schools seem to score average to good.
Many of the big-boxes and stores are clustered together by the freeway (I-76). Come to think of it, I've never been to the actual town of Brighton (the older part, which is about 4 miles off the interstate, and from The Village), I've only been to the housing tracts and the Wendy's off the freeway.
I think you'd be more than fine there if you like what you see. It's far from the rest of the metro, but if you can concede that you'll be fine. I do think, however, that you could do better/closer in at that price point (I looked the house up on recolorado) if that's an option you're looking to explore.

That area defines drive until you qualify for people who work in or near Denver. My guess is that area is trending well above average in foreclosures. As the next wave of ARM's start to ratchet up that trend will likely continue upwards.

I lived in Brighton from mid-2001 until just recently. I can't say that I'm familiar with The Village neighborhood. We lived in Bromley Park. Both of my kids attended Pennock Elementary. It's a very good school. When it initially opened it was a K-8. Unfortunately the area grew rapidly as did the school population and my daughter had to attend Overland Trail for 8th grade. I wasn't thrilled with the school's location, but overall her experience was a good one. Brighton High School, while not "rated highly" like some people suggest a school should be to be any good, is a good school. Both of my kids attended BHS. My son graduated in '08 with honors in the top 10% of the class. He wasn't active in sports, but quite active in other areas - drama, yearbook, NHS. Had we not moved unexpectedly this summer, my daughter would still be attending (and rather wishes she was).
Aside from what
some people say, there are actually residents who live in Brighton because they choose to, not because that's what they "qualified" for. The town is growing fast - which has it's ups and downs. Overall, we were quite satisfied with our quality of life while there.

Brighton park is a horrible place to let your kids grow up. Too many gangmembers roam the streets day and night. Brighton park is considered to be called a "Murder Zone" The media doesnt like and do not go through that neigborhood because i know many gangmembers that have died and gotten shot there and you hear nothing about it in the news. We are a forgotten neighborhood. elementary schools there are good but the high schools are BAD!

Based on your other posts, I think you're confusing Brighton, Colorado with Brighton Park Chicago. The two places are rather different.
I'm not super familiar with Brighton, Colorado --- but I'm pretty sure it's not known as a "murder zone."
