He still has to pay income tax, vote, etc. If he owns property in another state, he will be paying property tax.

he doesnt own property and didnt even have to file for taxes last yr because he didnt make anything. But if we do go exactly by the book and he gets an apartment and shows documentation on paying it and utility bills, registers to vote, gets a lisence, plates, registers his vehicle, as well as registers to vote and even files state income taxes, do you think the residency board would still be able to turn us down?

People saying it can't be done are just showing you ways to not accomplish it. I usually can't hear them over the sound of me doing it.

I'll be heading out to Colorado and fighting tooth and nail for residency. I thought it was impossible when I got shot down and financially destroyed paying for my wife's tuition. Only to find out one of her friends got around it after making friends with one of the Directors.

Understand that it is possible, but very difficult. You should get all the material, go through it, and look for anything they might do to disqualify you.

Ironically one of the reasons we are leaving is because the university forced us to pay out of state for 2 years. It's hard to have respect for them after they made exceptions for people that could afford it while we were living off a food bank trying to make ends work. I won't be a victim again. Preparation is key. If I'd known sooner I probably could've fought our way into residency. Remember the people you are going up against are stubborn, lazy, and you need to get them on your side. Hint: Don't tell them you know they are lazy and stubborn. I may have offended a few people, but I don't care. The young guy needs to understand how the world actually works.

Default Tuition specialists

Try using these guys.

Tuition Specialists | Home

They guarantee they'll get you residency or you'll pay nothing. Of course, they charge big bucks - 10% of what you would have paid per year.
