So I've been sitting on the idea of moving to Colorado for over a year now. I've researched alot, but still not deadset on where I want to live. I'm leaning towards Broomfield/Louisville or somewhere there about. I was initially looking at apartments but I feel renting a house will be a better idea since I have an Australian Shepherd who needs lots of exercise. So my question is if I was to rent a house would I have a hard time finding people to rent out the extra rooms?

I think you just might have a problem finding roomies. I just checked craigslist, searching on "looking for roommate" and there are 1631 ads....

Maybe you could be the roommate in someone else's rental house, that way your name probably isn't on any lease and you're not on the hook for the monthly nut.

My brother owns his house and recently decided he wanted to rent out his basement. He was dog friendly and didn't have any trouble finding a suitable tenant.

Good point. Lots of people with pets would apply. The hard part will be finding a landlord that will rent out house in the first place. OP is renting, not buying.

I do not think you will have a difficult time finding roommates here. There are a lot of local people who require and are currently looking for roommates.

Check out the roommate finder websites out there for more help.

Yeah the more I thought about this the more I realized it was a silly question. I currently live outside of Nashville TN and have no problem renting out a room in my current house. And while TN is growing itself, CO is probably averaging 60k more transplants. I guess the bigger problem is finding a landlord who will rent to me with no job but enough cash to easily pay a year upfront.
