The Dream Merchant
I second this. They often have small sofas, sectionals and the prices tend to be good.

This is another store that might be worth checking out: EMW furniture.

I've bought furniture at both The Dream Merchant and EMW. Neither is the price point OP is looking for (along with Room and Board and Scandinavian Designs).

you might be able to find a designer or home stager that allows you to look through their catalogs and would order for you.

My wife and I had found a shop in the DTC who used this model. Many of the items we were interested in had "variants" of the item we wanted either at Z Gallerie or Scandanavian (the model names were different, but basically identical from what we could tell) at a 25% to 35% discount from the brick and mortar store pricing...

downside is you need to find the same couch locally to actually sit on them for feel/evaluation...

sorry, but I forget the name of the outfit we used... I think they had closed up shop anyhow, last time I looked into the purchase we had made...

but, worth some effort to be expended, maybe - depending on your needs/wants.

Lots to work with here! THank you!

Wayfair has a likely looking sectional on sale that will -added bonus- fit through my door. Money is super tight right now, but I do need some furniture for the ground-floor living room just for my own sanity.

I've been really happy with our king mattress. It came rolled up and had held up much nicer than our AFW mattress did, but cost much less.

More or less on the rest of the stuff. Some stuff I really like, like our headboard, other stuff I wouldn't buy again like a bedframe or some smaller furniture items.

But, I feel that way about our AFW stuff too

I've been impressed with AFW. I'm actually taking the stuff with me when I move for work in a few weeks.

I forgot what I exactly paid, but I nailed it with sale items when I moved out here 1.5 years ago on relocation expenses. I got a sofa and a 4 chair wood kitchen table set for around $600 with delivery fees.

UPDATE: Sorry to have started a whole thread on this. I actually ended up going with AFW in the end after investigating all the options and dragging my friends to a bunch of stores and bombarding them with links. I found a set I had overlooked there previously, and after doing a lot of geometry and measuring, figured out it would fit in my house. I'm very happy with it, and paid about $1K, which was my allowed budget. It's comfortable and nice looking. Not my first choice, but a really good one nonetheless.

Now to find an accent rug to tie the whole room together...

DUDE!

But in all seriousness, I actually like AFW. I’ve had several long lasting pieces from there.

This is my favorite rug site. http://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/control/rugs

Although of course the $1200 rug I want is never one of the ones that goes on sale for 70% off. lol!
