Of course you can ask the same question on multiple forums.

But if the OP asked a more specific question, like:

"I lived in Austin Texas all my life, we have 3 kids from 3-14, schools and football program is key in what we are looking into. We like to go hiking, hubby likes fishing, haven't learn to ski yet, never learned to drive, but I am a major soccer/pee weee football mom...I am also considering the suburbs of DC and the Maine Coast...."

sigh....Think of the fun we could have had.

Default Bradburn Village v. Stapelton

Thank you everyone for your helpful responses. Yes, I was previously also considering Maine and DC, but have now decided that Denver is where we should be (hopefully this will be sufficient for you 2binDenver and Mike78613). Bradburn1 got me very interested in Bradburn Village. Upon doing research, Bradburn Village sounds a lot like the community I live in now (which I love). The houses are close together and my best friends are my neighbors (who also all have young children). There is definitely a sense of community and people help each other out when needed. I am also interested in Stapelton. Is there as much of a community feeling there? I was wondering if folks could tell me the differences between the 2 and the pros and cons of each. I know Stapelton is closer to downtown - is Bradburn Village sort of isolated - out on it's own? It appears that both communities are new construction, correct?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Community feel meaning - neighbors interact, become friends, watch out for each other, kids play together, etc.

well, Stapleton is infill, Bradburn is new. Both are new construction
stapleton is bigger
closer to downtown
closer to airport
i've heard great things about bradburn and community feel
not sure about schools- stapleton's are pretty good but i know potential overcrowding can be an issue b/c of all the young kids
i'd say community feel is pretty similar
stapleton is just much (and will be) bigger.

I would think every new community offers that potential. Although you can choose your house, you can't choose your neighbors.

I live on a cul de sac where we have pink flamingo Fridays in the summer - usually on the cul de sac - everyone brings food & drinks...there are so many kids playing, and laughing. There's a bunco group, a golfing group...if you put a little effort into it, there are many ways to build a community.

None of which is search-able in MLS.

My neighborhood has an annual block party, a neighborhood list-serve e-mail and lots of informal groups of neighbors who get together for one reason or another (play groups, cul-de-sac parties, etc). Some residents participate more than others. Once you find the house, you can ask around the 'hood about these things.

PS: I lived in another neighborhood just a few blocks from here that did none of the above.
