Hello,

We are looking to move to Denver and I was wondering
if you could help us out. I can tell you what we are
looking for and you can tell me if it exists in
Denver. We are looking for a suburb that is safe,
has good schools and has a lot of families with young
children. We are looking for a new house (at least 4 bedrooms) and for a
commute to the city that is not too outrageous. We would like to be by shops and restarants. The
maximum amount we can spend is $700,000. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

You are in luck! There are many such places in and around Denver. A few prior threads on this subject might be helpful (if you haven't already seen them).

Family friendly communities in the Denver Metro Area

What is the best Family community

and

Good Neighborhoods for Kids of Working Parents in/around Denver

I always highly recommend my neighborhood, Bradburn Village in Westminster (20-30 minutes north of downtown Denver), for people with kids as my neighborhood's swarming with 'em (the majority of homes here are couples with kids under age 8) as well as being a walkable neighborhood (can walk to lots of restaurants/bars/shops etc..), having nice architecture with homes in your price range, a great sense of community (everyone knows each other), and great schools. What we do not have however, is 1 acre lots, our yards are smaller so we can devote more space to parks and the like.

Stapleton is also always mentioned in these threads, you might want to take a look at that.

Feel free to send me a private message if you have additional questions about Bradburn.

Good luck!

As far as schools, I think you will find there are really no bad schools in the Denver suburbs. In your price range, you will have no problems finding a house in any neighborhood of your choosing.

I would refer you to the indices on the Denver and Colorado forums. There is information about schools there, too. I would suggest first looking closest to where the main job(s) will be, then branching out if you don't find anything you like close in.

It helps if you are upfront an honest in your request for information.

Tell us where you may move to, and why you are motivated to do so.

The more information you provide the better the nice folks here can advise you.

Maybe this person is trying to research a few different areas. Maybe they haven't scaled down to 1 specific location yet. I don't see anything wrong with asking the same question in multiple forums. Maine, DC and Denver area are all legitimate relocation areas.

But being more specific is the key on what they want, how close they want to be to things. I guess I can copy and paste 50 posts in all 50 cities on City Data and see what residents have to say. As 2bindenver said, be little bit more detailed in what they’re looking for. I guess they could have always used the “SEARCH” option on the forum.
