On clear days like today.

Looks more like the mountain sky. Must be the decreased driving and pollution.

Of course it is! Enjoy it while you can because it won’t last when people return to their old habits.

It looks like it did 25 years ago, before the last 2 population explosions in Colorado.

So wrong.
The brown cloud was much stronger/thicker back then.

I clearly remember being shocked when Denver came up as having one of the worst air quality levels in the nation, 20 or 25 years ago.

I spent my first few months here driving sort of down into Centennial towards the mountains, and got to marvel at the crystal clear air and those mountain things over there. Then summer came, and it all disappeared behind brown haze.

I've only done a little bit of driving this spring with good views of them thar hills, but it does seem very different now.

I bet you didn't have an alternation of work-in-the-yard-in-shorts weather, and several inches of snow... on about a three-day cycle, for two weeks...

New England weather changes frequently... from one form of rain to another. Denver weather changes like a random spin of Thor's weather wheel.

The sky has always been incredible with clear air here on the Western Slope near the mountains. The first summer I lived here (2018) there was awful smoke from wildfires all over the the States. The air is like champagne here. It's a major reason I retired here. I couldn't stand the humidity of the Boston area, and it was getting stickier and stickier over the years. I never had a/c there because I thought it was environmentally bad but the stickiness got so much worse over the years. When I had central air put into my new small house in 2001, it was still somewhat unusual to have central air. Now of course, it's standard in new houses. I loathe humidity. I wilt and melt.

Left New England after six of the worst summers of my life. Didn't move there to be trapped indoors four months of the year, not by the heat of my California youth (tolerable if you learn to cope with it) but by the worst humidity I've ever encountered... 100% RH at 80-90 degrees that simply does not break, at night or sometimes for several days in a row.

The condenser drain on our AC ran like an open faucet.

Climate (and low humidity) was one of my top reasons for choosing Denver. I do envy your clear skies over there, though.
