I'm a pilot, and fly in and out of DEN a lot. When they are landing north I have noticed we turn final around the Parker area. I was wondering what the noise is like around there? Modern airplanes are a lot quieter than they used to be, and I would imagine that most modern homes are soundproofed when being built in a high air traffic area. If I am outside, airplane noise doesn't bother me, but I don't want to be woken up by it.

Centennial Airport will likely have more plane noise than DIA depending on where you live in Parker. We're in Southeast Aurora right under final approach to Buckley Space Force Base, and the F-16s, C-130s, C-17s, Blackhawks, and Chinooks that fly into and out of there make way more noise than traffic going into the airport.

F-16's???? SWEET!

That would be mostly daylight flying, so I am not too worried about that.

Yeah the only time I really notice them now is when they takeoff low and hot. It shakes the house sometimes, and we're not really that close to the base. The runway is almost exactly 6.5 miles from our house as the crow flies.
